Remarks: considered valid by recent sources (ITIS); subspecies palustris not considered valid fide MSW3, but not allocated to any valid subspecies. Type locality of palustris is north bank of the Kapuas River, below Pulo Limbang, western Borneo, Kalamantan Barat, Indonesia, so would be a synonym of C. p. atricapillus or C. p. sarawakensis.
